  • Retail Therapy for You, Retail Rant for Me

    December 19, 2013 • Culture, Economics, Featured

I love it when kids knock things off rails. I love it when they rip the tags off clothes. I love it when women try and push for a discount on a t-shirt that is definitely not damaged. I love it when customers make me check for handbags in the stock room when I informed them adamantly that we DON’T sell that bag. I may be ranting about retail here but trust me, all retail workers secretly want to: I’m just brave (and tired) enough to speak up. Continue Reading

  • Oh Fitch, Please

    December 19, 2013 • Culture, Featured

About a week ago I watched a video called “Abercrombie and Fitch gets a brand readjustment #fitchthehomeless”. The idea is good: disgrace a bigoted company by helping those in need. However, the method of doing so is niggling me. Continue Reading

  • AM Review

    December 16, 2013 • Culture

“AM” represents a totally new Arctic Monkey’s sound to that heard in their debut album “Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not” released in 2006, but the charm and intrigue from when the band first appeared in still evident in their newest venture. December 16, 2013 • Culture

Taking a look at some of the decade’s top selling, most popular artists, arguably of all time, there seems to be a common theme occurring. Take Britney Spears, her debut album became the biggest selling album ever recorded by a teenage artist. A few years later she shaves her head following drug rehabilitation. The other classic and more recent example is Miley Cyrus. Continue Reading

“We believe protecting the environment is fundamental to the thriving society and sound economy upon which business depends.”
So reads the introduction to HSBC’s environmental policy, which, for a bank which likes to put out an image of responsibility and sustainability, is really rather sparse. Not only that, but around half of it is dedicated to explaining why they have recently reversed their policy on carbon-neutrality, for which they give the reason that “the regulatory environment and international carbon markets have not developed in the way we envisaged” Continue Reading

  • Opinion: There’s No Religion in Paradise

    December 16, 2013 • Culture, Featured

For almost the entirety of recorded history shocking fiction has eroded children’s wide eyes and gullible minds. Deific fables with sickening slickness violently penetrating virgin ears generations over, thrusting and thrusting and finally exploding, resulting in a brain hypnotised using tears, lies and neuro linguistic programming. Continue Reading

Spotlight on Women’s Football in England

Football is growing. In 1888 it was a game played between twelve teams in England, now it’s a game enjoyed by 265 million players worldwide. Gone are the days of elitism; now are the days of inclusivity, and women are no exception...
